What we've learned so far
A dated log of what the author learns about SRDA's services, in person and by phone, as it happens. Each entry names the program page it changed. The open questions still waiting are listed at the end.
This page is the running log. If you know an answer we have not gotten yet, email editor@stoagen.com. When one of the open questions on a program page gets an answer, the answer goes onto that page in its box, dated, and a short entry lands here so anyone can see what changed and when. If you are reading this with someone from SRDA, this is the page that shows where things stand.
August 26, 2026, in person at SRDA
Transportation: rides are to medical appointments only, booked at least five business days ahead. That is narrower and slower than the published record, which had described grocery, errand, meal, and work trips at three working days' notice; the page now carries both, dated. Still open: fleet size, trips per day, and whether the wider service ended for good.
Housing: SRDA hands out a printed senior-housing list, now transcribed onto the housing page: the Housing Authority's seven subsidized buildings, the income-based buildings at one third of income, max-rent units, and unsubsidized independent living, each with a phone number. The process for the subsidized buildings, as told: waitlists are mostly closed, you watch the Housing Authority's site and social media for an opening, get on the day it opens, and expect about a year, if you are lucky.
Community meals: you sign up; suggested donation $2, free if you cannot afford it, 60 and over; meals run about 10:30 to 12:30, and it pays to come early. And the vans do not take riders to the meal sites, which answers this site's founding question the hard way: every program assumes you can get there, and for the meals, SRDA cannot get you there.
August 2026, before the first visit
The site was compiled from srda.org, Pueblo County pages and the Federal Transit Administration's published data, one page per program, with every question the public record does not answer written down as an open question on the page it belongs to. Nothing had been asked yet.
Still open
Every program page carries its own open questions in a gold box. The ones that matter most right now, all of them about getting there:
- Transportation: fleet size and trips per day, and whether the reduction to medical-only rides is permanent.
- Meals on Wheels: how many routes a day, over what hours and mileage, how short of drivers they are, and whether mileage is reimbursed.
- Help at Home: current rates and the waitlist, and whether grocery and errand runs are outgrowing staffing.
- Recreation: whether there is a membership requirement, and whether non-drivers can reach daytime classes on the vans.
